Victoria Chinese Golf Club – Hole-in-One Policy

Purpose

To recognize and celebrate members who achieve a verified hole-in-one during eligible golf play.

Eligibility

  • The player must be a current Victoria Chinese Golf Club (VCGC) member in good standing.
  • The hole-in-one must be scored during a regular round of golf played in an official VCGC event or a sanctioned Federation event in accordance with the Rules of Golf.
  • The shot must be witnessed by at least one playing partner or fellow competitor.

Verification

To qualify for recognition, the member must submit:

  • Date and course played
  • Hole number and yardage
  • Witness name(s) and contact information
  • Scorecard or other acceptable proof, where available

The achievement must be reported to the Club Executive within 30 days of the round.

Witness Requirements

  • The hole-in-one must be witnessed by at least one adult person who directly observed the shot from the tee to the hole.
  • The witness should preferably be a member of the player’s group; however, another golfer, course staff member, or tournament official who observed the shot is also acceptable.
  • Family members may serve as witnesses if they were present and directly observed the shot.
  • The witness must provide their name and contact information and may be asked to confirm the achievement.
  • In the absence of a witness, the Club Executive may consider other supporting evidence but is not obligated to recognize the hole-in-one.

Recognition

  • The member will receive official recognition from VCGC at a club event or meeting.
  • The achievement will be recorded in the club’s Hole-in-One Register.
  • The club may acknowledge the accomplishment through its website, social media, or other club communications.

Optional Club Contribution

A member achieving a hole-in-one may, at their discretion, celebrate the accomplishment by contributing refreshments or sponsoring a small gathering; however, this is entirely voluntary and not required.

Policy Administration

The Club Executive reserves the right to review and verify all submissions and make final decisions regarding eligibility and recognition.
