Duncan Meadows – June 23, 2019
The Weather Gods favoured us for our round at Duncan Meadows. The course conditions were excellent! A total of 22 golfers participated. We welcomed two guests: Julie Choo and Don Thome. Thank you to both for coming out.
Skill Prizes:
Mens: The longest drive on #5 was taken by Morris Lee and the KP on #14 was taken by none other than Ming Hui who also claimed the “hole out” competition with a sandy chip-in on #17.
Ladies: Helene Gaffney had the longest drive on #9 and the KP on #16. The KP was not pretty. She pulled the ball to the left, heading towards the bunker. It landed on the edge of the green and s-l-o-w-l-y rolled down the green to settle in a spot just 5 cm inside the edge of the green about 3 m from the hole.
The “hole out” competition for the ladies still had not been won … the pot is growing!!!
Other Prizes:
50/50 was taken by Helene Gaffney … well, the Golf Gods certainly favoured Helene that day, although they almost gave her a heart attack when her 2nd shot on #18 pinged off the 150 yard marker with a bang like a gun shot. Luckily it went left into the water and it was only a lost ball.

Fun Event at Juan de Fuca – July 14, 2019
10 lucky members attended and had a blast. The weather was wonderful, the company and laughter was better, and the prizes were the icing on the cake. The $5 fee collected at the beginning was given back in KP prizes – 9 holes plus a 10th drawn from those that didn’t earn one through any skill. Each member received a sleeve of balls, a drink following golf, and an extra prize donated by Barb Hunter. It’s a good thing Barb could find her ball on #9 after sneaking in and stealing the KP from Morris. Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to the next fun event.
Cowichan Golf – July 21, 2019

It was a hot day and the mosquitoes came out to play with a few of the members.

We ended the day off with a delicious burger buffet.
