President’s Report
Gorman Lee, President, provided a short review of the year’s activities. Highlights included more events than in previous years, including some nine and dines, and the new “Ball Draw” which was held at each event. Winners of the Ball Draw are John Pearson (44 points) Esther Dunn (42 points) and Bobby Lee (41 points).
Some ideas from the survey at the beginning of the year were deferred until 2016. These include Chinese dinners (without a golf event), golf trips – ie up island, Par 3 challenge, golf ladder as in 2014, some kind of team challenge (intercountry/intercultural has been suggested). The executive will be considering adding some of these to the 2016 calendar of events.
VCGC had 8 members attend the InterCity at Seattle. Bob Piew won low gross for his flight.
Federation Events: Vancouver InterCity will be in Vancouver in 2016. Also LA hosts an event at Halloween in Las Vegas, we had 3 members attend.
Gorman informed the membership that the executive has been unable to locate the Constitution and Bylaws document, so a new C&B is being drafted and will need to be presented to the membership at the spring meeting for ratification.
Election of Officers:
The following executive were re-elected for 2016:
Gorman Lee, Cathy Wong, Leanne Ross, Nolan Adam, Louise Kallhood.
Don Smith resigned his position. Helene Gaffney was nominated and elected.
Dave Lachmund volunteered in a “Member at Large” capacity. This is a non executive position. Dave will help with events and club activities on an as needed basis.
Treasurer’s Report
Leanne Ross provided a treasurer’s report.
We had 57 members in 2015. We started the year with a healthy budget surplus, and the executive decided that over the upcoming 4 years (until the next InterCity) approximately $1300 would be spent annually on member services and prizing. The goal is to have approximately $8000 in the bank at the time of the 2018 InterCity, as working capital is needed to host this event.
Prizes:
Approximately $650 in gift card purchases, golf lessons and range balls was awarded as prizes. As well, a number of smaller prizes from previous events were given out.
Ball Draw Winners: John Pearson (2016 Membership and $25) Esther Dunn (2016 Membership) and Bobby Lee ($25)
Larry Doerges won a Perfect Attendance Award for Sunday Golf Events (free membership for 2016)
A 50/50 draw netted $83 for the winner, Sandra Harding. (Apparently she won the 50/50 at the season opener event last year as well – Lucky Lady!)
